Paralegals/Legal Assistants

Part-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant roles (Voluntary roles available for high calibre candidates for a period of 3 to 5 days but this period may be extended subject to the individual's performance)

New Temple Chambers is commercial barristers’ chambers committed to recruiting people of the highest calibre as this is fundamental to the continued success of chambers.

Chambers is currently seeking an extremely hard working and committed paralegal on a voluntary basis. The role will involve a wide spectrum of paralegal duties under supervision with a particular focus on legal research as well as assisting with marketing and administrative tasks. A keen interest in construction, chancery and commercial law will be an advantage. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate/s.

  • Must be flexible as most of the work will generally be carried out during office and non-office hours during the week (i.e. after 6pm in the evening) and some weekends.
  • May involve travel throughout the UK and in those circumstances all travel costs would be reimbursed

Responsibilities

Typical duties under supervision might include:

  • Carrying out legal research;
  • Note taking and taking minutes;
  • Preparing bundles;
  • Document management and production;
  • Filing of documents, correspondence and other documentation;
  • Scheduling and compiling documents;
  • Photocopying and scanning; and
  • Administrative/marketing tasks.

Additional Information

  • University degree or studying at degree level
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Location: In chambers in London and/or remotely (however, where travel throughout the UK is necessary during the period of legal experience, in those circumstances, all reasonable travel costs/reasonable expenses will be reimbursed)
  • Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed during the period of legal experience
